Kay Mixson Jenkins was born in Fairfax, SC. She attended Allendale-Fairfax High School where she was a member of the Debate Team ,Annual Staff, Beta Club, and had several poems published in the FairDale.
Kay was at the pinnacle of her career as one of the few female heavy-equipmentoperators in the construction industry when she developed Parkinson's at theage of thirty-four. Since then, she has become a tireless advocate and a respected leader in the following organizations nationwide.
